WigWag Magazine lot
A total of 8 issues, complete in good condition. Published from 1989-1991. Includes the first issue with cover by Paul Davis.
Founded by Alexander "Lex" Kaplen, who worked at The New Yorker, Wigwag eschewed celebrity coverage in favor of personal and literary writing. Features tons of illustrations (some artists had comics that would later be published by Drawn and Quarterly). Artists include American illustration who's who of this time period including Gary Baseman, J Otto Siebold, , Weisbecker, Chris Van Allsburg , Josh Gosfield, Ivan Chermayoff, Josh Gosfield, Paul Davis, Maira Kalman, Frances Jetter, Jeffrey Fisher, Richard Sala, a comic and a cover by Robert Weaver. Fiction and articles by Bruce Jay Friedman, John Lahr, Susam Lehman, and Alice Hoffman. Photos are of actual items being sold. Ships securely. Really an excellent, if forgotten, magazine. One of the most significant contributors to Wigwag's identity was its art director, the illustrator and designer Paul Davis. These are duplicates from my personal collection.
