America’s Great Cartoonists. Charles H. Dennis. The urbane whimsey of Charles H. Dennis is famous in the cartoon field! Dennis is a writer by nature, and does all his cartooning for fun…which is why he is able to tie his lines to his drawings with such charming cohesiveness. He can make everybody laugh…even people who don’t want to…
Bashful Charles Dennis writes, “Georgia, my wife, and I live with our two boys, Keith, 13, and Craig, 11, in the hills east of Berkeley, California, and we all have so much fun out here we don’t get into town very often. I am a native Missourian, 44 years old, was in the Coast Guard during World War II, studied art in college in California for four years. I have collections of my cartoons displayed in places like the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, Syracuse University in New York and the University of California at Berkeley, and have written a book! I am grateful that people like my humor, and my cartoons have appeared in nearly every magazine in America.”
